Tool profile
Granola AI
Granola runs silently in the background on your Mac, captures your meeting audio locally, and uses AI to generate structured, high-quality notes after the call ends. Unlike bot-based tools, it does not join your meetings as a visible participant — it just listens through your system audio and delivers clean summaries.
Models and pricing
Trying Granola before committing
Useful for evaluation but the lifetime cap means you will hit the wall fast if you have a busy calendar. Do not rely on this long-term.
Individual professionals with regular meeting loads
Unlimited meetings, full note history, custom note templates, and integrations. This is the plan almost every real user ends up on. Worth it if you are in more than 5 meetings a week.
Teams who want shared notes, collaborative features, and admin controls
Granola was still building out team features as of early 2025. If you need org-wide deployment or SSO, verify current availability before assuming it is production-ready for enterprise.
Which model should you use?
Almost everyone should start with the Free plan to test audio quality and note accuracy on their specific setup, then move to Pro immediately — it is reasonably priced and the lifetime cap on free makes it a trial, not a long-term option.
